A Pavane and Galliard of Delight

A Pavane and Galliard of Delight was completed in the autumn of 2025 and is dedicated to composer and friend, Carson Cooman. It was Mr. Cooman who commissioned the piece for his intriguing Contemporary Chamber Organ Repertoire Project, whose aim is to bring about new organ works for smaller pipe organs. His request for my contribution to the project was for a pavane and galliard.
A Pavane and Galliard of Delight was conceived for a one manual organ of three stops maximum (8’ 4’ 2’), no pedal and with limited manual compass. Registrations are given only as suggestions, for they may be freely modified or completely ignored at the performer’s discretion. Although the piece is intended for a chamber organ, it may also be performed on a larger organ made small or, even, with tastefully expanded registration.
